served, followed by the chance to relax and enjoy the
scenery below.
On the way the aircraft overfly the Island of Coche,
the Araya Peninsula, the Cariaco Gulf and States of
Monagas and Anzoategui until the crossing of the
Orinoco River, just east of Ciudad Bolivar. At this
point the Orinoco, the sixth longets in the world, has
covered close to 2.000 km, with just a remaining 300
km, to get to the Atlantic. A few minutes later the
aircraft will pass over Guri Dam and Guri Lake, one of
the largest man made lakes in the world. Not long
after, weather permitting, the aircraft will enter
Devil´s Canyon and fly past Angel Falls, the highest
perennial waterfall in the world, wich descends close
to 1,000 mts into the jungle below. This waterfall was
made famous by Jimmy Angel bush pilot, who crash
landed his plane on the top. Once everybody has seen
the fall, the aircraft will then head to Canaima.
Upon landing at Canaima, the group will be taken to
Canaima Lagoon and then to Sapo Falls or Yuri Falls or
Mayupa, depending on the time of the year and the
levels of the waters, however on either excursion
there will be the opportunity to swim and enjoy this
most unique area. As a matter of interest, all the
water you see coming down any of the falls, will
eventually go into the Carrao river which in turn will
join the Caroni river which in tourn then reaches Guri
Lake, which you saw on the way down. After lunch, the
chance to have a drink on the terrace overlooking
