The classic Hoturvensa Lodge surrounded
by jungle, waterfalls, rivers, Savannah, and Tepuy´s
next to the lagoon overlooking the waterfalls.
It has a
privileged location set in the jungle with a spectacular
view of Canaima Lagoon, an important waterfall, and
beaches of golden sand. Here, it is possible to fully
enjoy, in total comfort, the magic of the Gran Sabana,
observing first-hand the oldest geological formation of
the planet, called Islands in Time by Charles Brewer and
the National Geographic. There are different places
where indigenous crafts can be purchased in the
vicinity. From this point, several 1 day excursions with
specialized guides are organized, to the falls of Mayupa,
El Yuri, El Sapo, El Sapito, El Hacha. It is also
possible to visit the famous Angel Falls at Auyantepui,
the highest waterfall in the world (980 m.), on an 3-day
excursion in dugout canoe and walking, with lodging in
jungle refuges, sleeping in hammocks. Price includes
lodging in double room, transfer airport-camp-airport,
all meals, welcome cocktail, ride in a dug-out canoe in
the lagoon, overflight of Angel Falls if weather allows
it.

This camp was one of the pioneers in adventure tourism
in the country and many people know it by the name
Rudy's Jungle, in honor of its founder. Visitors are
attended to by the family of the legendary Rudy Truffino.
It is located on the banks of the Carrao River, where
you can enjoy a refreshing dip as well as the
tranquility and privacy the camp offers. The surrounding
landscaped consists of savannah and jungle, typical of
the Gran Sabana, with its imposing tepuis in the
distance. Diverse half-day excursions are offered to
different falls such as Mayupa, El Sapo, El Hacha,
Sabanero, and the Moroco River. Visits to indigenous
communities and to obtain handicrafts from them. Price
includes lodging in double room, land and river
transfers between airport-camp, all meals and welcome
cocktail.
Recomendaciones/Recommendations: It is necessary
to bring identification documents, cédula or passport,
light clothing appropriate for the climate.
Facilities
This camp, with a maximum capacity of 26, has 4 cabins
with 6 double rooms, 4 triples and 1 matrimonial. Each
room has fans, private bathroom, and a small porch with
hammocks. The central house has restaurant and bar,
where breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served with
typical Venezuelan meat, fish, salads, etc.

Parakaupa Camp |

Located a few
minutes away from the Canaima lagoon. It is
surrounded by all the beauties this privileged zone
offers and far from all contamination, lost between the
jungle this camp has an impressive presence, thanks to
the natural environment around it.
The camp can lodge 30 persons in double or triple rooms
and offer restaurant services with typical home dishes.
Equipped with Private bathrooms, ventilators, mineral
water and ice. Here, one breathes the intense air
typical of humid tropical forest, with jungle and unique
native flora, all within a environment of great visual
and ecological value.

Kavac Camp |

The only way to get here is by light plane and the best
welcome possible is the overflight of the impressive
Angels Falls prior to landing in this minuscule, but
tidy and cute indigenous settlement at the base of
Auyantepui. On clear days, the entire tepuy can be seen.
Once there, it is best to follow the call of nature and
take the excursions guided by Indians, skirting rivers
and waterfalls, to arrive at the impressive Kavak canyon
whose vault contains a magnificent view of the sky and a
cascade enclosed by stone walls. To observe this
waterfall is practically a mystical experience. There
are also visits to the indigenous community of Santa
Marta, where the Indians work on handicrafts, etc. You
can also go to the village of Kamarata, set in a valley
with 2 tepuis forming an unreachable natural portal, and
to the La Toma falls. Kavac has the magic to impose calm
and peace to even the most hyperkinetic of spirits.

Recomendations
Identification documents indispensable for boarding the
airplane, cédula or passport. It's recommended to carry
light equipment in waterproof hand-carry bags.

earthen walls (a wipa) containing 8 double rooms with
private bath and beds with mosquito netting, in addition
to 10 rooms with external shared bath. Open area for
social activities, dining, and living room.

Arekuna Camp |
|

The camp is found on
the high part of a hill and has a spectacular view of
the tepuis, jungle, and savannas. To take in all of this
beauty and observe the great variety of wildlife,
excursions are offered on foot and in dugout canoes.
Leaving early, you can reach the Antabares river in 1
hour, when it is full of parakeets, macaws, toucans, and
other avifauna, in addition to monkeys and other jungle
animals. You have to return before sunset. Climbing to
the summit, there is a majestic view of the savannah and
tepuis. An outing is also offered on the Caroní River
with a walk of 1 km. to reach the waterfalls of Las
Babas. If the river isn't too low (in the dry season),
you can visit some petroglyphs. Beyond the waterfalls,
there is a beautiful beach with red water. It is also
possible to reach Canaima in a full-day excursion which
includes navigation on the Caroní River, transfer to the
Cucurital and Apamatá Rivers, and then a trip in Jeep to
Canaima and from there another dugout canoe ride to the
falls of Canaima. Price includes, air plane ticket,
lodging, all meals, national beverages, excursions,
insurance, specialized assistance of a guide.
Recomendations
For those who wish to swim, they provide a free light
green towel. Please don't use the dark colored towels
from the rooms for this purpose.

nearby, but if you are not looking for luxury, this is
an opportunity to go there and see the same thing, but
at a lower cost. Handicrafts are sold in the village and
the locals organize excursions to the lagoon of Canaima,
where it is possible to swim in the pretty beaches of
colored sand, or in the waterfalls near El Sapo, El
Hacha, El Yuri, etc. Price includes lodging, 3 meals
daily, excursions.
Facilities
Basic and rustic accommodation where sleeping is
only in hammocks, with capacity for 60 people. There is
one dining room where all meals are offered. Communal
bathrooms, cold water only.

Churun Vena |
|
Located just 15 minutes walk from the airstrip, this is
one of the economic options in Canaima. There is a large
indigenous-style construction (churuata) to hang
hammocks and rooms with private bath, fan, and special
attention to the decoration. Rustic, but clean and
well-cared for.

Uruve Camp |
|
The camp is
located in one of the oldest regions of the planet with
unique geological formations. Roraima and Kukenán tepuis
are found not far from here, forming a landscape full of
mystery and enchantment. In addition, the facility of
touring this magic land in helicopter, on mountain
bikes, paragliding, in canoes, or on foot is offered.
Five minutes from the installations, crossing a gallery
forest, one encounters Salto Rue Merú, which emerges
from an underground section of the river, flowing over
red and yellow jasper, with a cascade of some 37 m.
(over 100 ft.) which falls in a beautiful natural pool.
Price includes lodging, land transportation from Puerto
Ordaz in completely equipped vans, assistance of
bilingual guides, all meals, national beverages, and
local tours.
Recomendations
Lightweight clothing, sun screen, hat or cap, sneakers
or hiking boots, still or video camera, personal
toiletries, sweater or jacket, bathing suit, mosquito
repellent. Do not make campfires, stay on the trails, do
not open new routes with double traction vehicles, etc.

Lodging in native-style constructions (churuatas) or
tents with hammocks or sleeping bags. Sanitary
facilities in the churuatas and place to store your
clothing and equipment. Well-prepared meals and local
